Overview
Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) technology performs all biological treatment steps — fill, react (aeration), settle, decant, and idle — in a single basin in timed cycles. This eliminates the need for separate secondary clarifiers and allows flexible nutrient removal by adjusting cycle phases. Basiia supplies SBR systems for industrial camps, remote sites, and municipal applications where variable or intermittent flows, compact footprint, and nutrient removal are key requirements. Single-Basin Process
All treatment steps occur in one basin — eliminating secondary clarifiers, return sludge pumps, and the associated civil works, reducing capital cost and site footprint significantly.
Flexible Cycle Control
PLC-controlled cycle phases (fill, anoxic react, aerobic react, settle, decant, idle) are fully adjustable — enabling nitrification, denitrification, and biological phosphorus removal by modifying cycle timing.
Handles Variable Flows
Batch operation inherently accommodates variable and intermittent influent flows — the fill phase absorbs flow variations without hydraulic overloading of downstream processes.
Decanting Equipment
Floating or fixed decanter assemblies withdraw clarified effluent from the settled surface layer — with level-controlled operation to maintain consistent effluent quality across varying batch volumes.
Nutrient Removal
Simultaneous nitrification/denitrification (SND) or dedicated anoxic/aerobic cycle phases achieve total nitrogen removal; anaerobic fill phases enable biological phosphorus removal without chemical dosing.
Compact & Modular
Two or more SBR basins operate in alternating cycles for continuous influent acceptance — modular design allows capacity expansion by adding basins, with minimal disruption to existing operation.
