Overview

Crystallisers are the terminal stage of a Zero Liquid Discharge system — converting concentrated brine into a dry, handleable solid and recovering high-purity distillate for reuse. Basiia supplies forced circulation crystallisers, draft tube baffle (DTB) crystallisers, and evaporative crystallisers engineered to the specific salt chemistry, crystal size requirements, and throughput of each ZLD project. Our crystalliser packages include vapour body, heat exchanger, recirculation pump, and integrated solids dewatering.

Engineered for Performance

Forced Circulation Crystalliser

High-velocity recirculation through external heat exchangers with flash evaporation in the vapour body — producing uniform crystal size distribution and preventing fouling of heat transfer surfaces.

Draft Tube Baffle (DTB) Design

Internal draft tube and baffle configuration provides controlled supersaturation and crystal growth zones — producing larger, more uniform crystals with improved dewatering characteristics.

Crystal Size Control

Residence time, recirculation rate, and fines dissolution systems are engineered to target crystal size distribution — optimising downstream centrifuge or filter performance and product quality.

Integrated Dewatering

Crystalliser packages include hydrocyclone classification, centrifuge or vacuum belt filter, and wet cake conveying — delivering a dry, stackable solid product ready for disposal or sale.

Multi-Salt Streams

Selective crystallisation sequences for streams containing multiple salts — staged evaporation and temperature control to precipitate target salts separately and maximise product purity.

Distillate Recovery

High-purity condensate recovered from the vapour body is suitable for boiler feed, cooling tower make-up, or process reuse — closing the water loop and achieving true ZLD.
